The Journey from Business to Purpose
Tom's professional life began as a business consultant and telecom executive, where he honed his skills in branding, operations, and leadership. But it wasn’t until he entered the cannabis space that he truly began to align his work with his values. Starting with his first book, “Corporate to Cannabis”, Tom outlined how he transitioned from the corporate world to help startups in the cannabis industry thrive. This shift wasn’t just about career—it was about finding deeper meaning in his work.

From there, Tom continued to write, consult, and help entrepreneurs launch their businesses. But it was his wife who urged him to channel that energy into something personal. Together, they created Chill Caw-Fee, a botanical social space that has become a hub for community, connection, and healing.
Facing Challenges and Finding Strength in the Great Awakening
Tom’s path was far from linear. A misdiagnosis of pancreatic cancer in 2013 forced him to confront his mortality and reassess his priorities. “When faced with my own mortality,” Tom shared, “I realized it wasn’t about chasing money anymore. It was about purpose.”
Another pivotal moment came in 2010 when Tom decided to get sober after battling addiction to painkillers and alcohol. This decision was driven by a desire to be there for his children and led him to explore mixed martial arts, jiu-jitsu, and later, plant medicine like Ayahuasca. These experiences allowed him to uncover deeper layers of his psyche and begin the process of healing from decades of unresolved trauma.
The Power of Plant Medicine and Inner Work
Tom credits much of his transformation to Ayahuasca, a plant medicine he initially feared but ultimately embraced. “You can lie to your therapist, your wife, and even yourself, but under the medicine, you can’t lie anymore,” he explained. His first Ayahuasca ceremony was a profound awakening, revealing hidden traumas and providing a new perspective on life.
Since then, Tom has participated in over 20 Ayahuasca ceremonies and even written books about his experiences, including “Drink Ayahuasca, Remember Everything”. He emphasizes that the real growth happens after the ceremony, through intentional integration and self-reflection.
Breaking Free from Limiting Beliefs
One of the most significant lessons Tom learned is the power of choice. “We base all our decisions on the knowledge and beliefs we have at the time,” he said. “But sometimes those beliefs are outdated. We need to forgive ourselves for past decisions and allow ourselves to grow.”
Tom also speaks about the importance of understanding the subconscious mind and its role in shaping our behaviors. Whether it’s triggers from childhood or ingrained habits, awareness is the first step to change. He uses tools like mindfulness, meditation, and even a Neurovisor—a device that simulates psychedelic experiences—to help individuals access deeper levels of consciousness and healing.

Building Community and Connection
At the heart of Tom’s work is the desire to create spaces where people can connect, heal, and grow. Caw-Feeis more than a coffee shop—it’s a community hub where veterans, entrepreneurs, and everyday people gather to share ideas and support one another. Through men’s meetups, educational events, and a welcoming atmosphere, Tom has cultivated a space that fosters meaningful connections.
“We’ve lost a lot of our sense of community as men,” Tom observed. “But places like Caw-Fee allow us to come together, share our stories, and realize we’re not alone in our struggles.”
